Content Web Editor (Part-time, Intern)

Description

Jet Propulsion Laboratory is looking for a Part-Time Student Intern within the Institutional Communications Office to provide support during the school year. Intern will be responsible for assisting in creating feature content (slide shows, quizzes, profiles), prepping all elements and posting to Web sites. Intern will also work on updating and posting content from various groups in a timely way. May also be called upon to create short feature content for education sites that deal with space science.

Required Skills:
Must be a college level student currently attending a local accredited university majoring in Information Technology, Communications, Liberal Arts, or related discipline with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Must possess knowledge of HTML and the ability to update Web sites using Dreamweaver and/or content management systems. Working knowledge of Photoshop and a good eye for cropping images. Excellent written and verbal skills. Ability to prioritize and work independently with minimal supervision. Must be deadline and detail oriented and a team player.

Desired Skills:
Junior or Senior level student. Versatile web editor who can run the gamut of sizing images and writing captions and short features to updating a Web site. Interest in space science and education a plus. Familiarity with Flash and video compression also a plus.
