Database fundamentals, mySQL, PHP, Adobe Dreamweaver
For those times when it’s all about the data…
It’s all about the data. In the “olden days”, organizations had to rely on file processing systems to organize, store, and process data files. These systems stored data in many different files, often organized in very different ways – and made it difficult, time-consuming and costly to retrieve data. Today, we can use the relational structure and connect records by common key values. We can also use that structure to allow users to add, remove and update information in your database through their web browser. Can you say e-commerce?
In this course, you’ll learn how to build dynamic, data-driven Web sites and gain a thorough understanding of how to retrieve and manipulate that data. First, you’ll learn the basics of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) and how to design and implement databases. Then you’ll learn the Structured Query Language (SQL, specifically mySQL) for communicating between databases and scripts on Web Pages. Finally, using Cold Fusion, you’ll learn how to create data interfaces and other constructs that will turn you into a development pro!
