Course Description
You’ve got the fundamentals, now it’s time to have some fun…

There are so many excellent programs and applications written for the web – calendars, mapping and more – and now there’s a way for you to use those existing programs rather than reinventing the wheel: an Application Programming Interface will allow your program to interact effectively with other software programs. With this under your belt, you can take everything you’ve learned about creating interactive web pages to a whole new level…

This hands-on course will focus on the emerging Web 2.0 technologies and conventions, such as data exchange and XML, creating and disseminating Web services, using APIs, and building applications that leverage multiple Web Servers and APIs. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore next-generation scripting, such as AJAX.
Why Students Take ITP-404
Students take this course to learn how to build and work with 3rd party web applications, like Google Maps – or even to take advantage of the emerging business model where developers write their own web apps that are licensed for use on other people’s web sites.
