Course Description
Build it and they will come. With this course, you’ll get an in-depth look at the process and requirements necessary to implement an Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP) for an organization. Grouped into small project teams, you’ll begin by setting up a Windows server system which you’ll monitor throughout the semester. Then, following SAP’s methodology you’ll implement an ERP system that can be used to coordinate an organization’s activities. Data will also be transported from an old legacy system to your new ERP system. Finally, you’ll measure a new level of success when you configure your ERP system to model the organization’s customer-order process.
Why Students Take ITP-454
USC is one of only several universities in the U.S. that provide an opportunity to implement a multi-million dollar ERP system. Imagine being able to put that on your resume! During the semester, you and your team members will plan, prepare and install an ERP system. By the fifteenth week of class, you will “go-live” with your system, having your system support all aspects of a company’s customer order management process from selling products, shipping, billing, and collecting payment.
