ITP300 - Database Web Development

It’s all about the data. In this course, you’ll learn how to build dynamic, data-driven Web sites and gain a thorough understanding of how to retrieve and manipulate that data. First, you’ll learn the basics of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) and how to design and implement databases. Then you’ll learn the Structured Query Language (SQL) for communicating between databases and scripts on Web Pages. Finally, using Cold Fusion, you’ll learn how to create data interfaces and other constructs that will turn you into a development pro!


ITP404 - Intermediate Web Development

You’ve got the fundamentals, now it’s time to have some fun! Take what you’ve learned about creating interactive web pages to the next level. This hands-on course will focus on the emerging Web 2.0 technologies and conventions, such as data exchange and XML, creating and disseminating Web services, using APIs, and building applications that leverage multiple Web Servers and APIs. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore next-generation scripting, such as AJAX.


ITP420 - Structuring Data for the Web

ITP450 - Designing eCommerce Applications

ITP460 - Web Application Project

It’s time to dig in and get some real-world experience. In this hands-on course, you’ll work on semester-long industry web projects. Student teams work on every area of development including: project management, graphic production, database architecture, scripting and programming, security and marketing. You’ll also gain a lecture-focused overview of important industry subjects such as project and resource planning, implementing security, database and information architecture, testing and debugging application, and launching and marketing sites.


ITP499 - Technologies and Processes for Building Web Startups

The purpose of this class is to teach students the basic technologies and
processes involved in the building Internet Startups. Students will be
introduced to the different phases of building Web 2.0 startups, which
include: Idea Analysis, product prototyping building and product launch.

This course will expose students to the core technologies and ideas to
convert an idea into a Web2.0 Startup.

In this class students will:

- Understand what it takes to build a web startup
- Understand the Web 2.0 marketplace
- Learn about using the web as a platform
- Learn about the processes for building Web 2.0 applications
- Learn about the technologies (hardware and software) behind Web
