Minor Description
Web technology is a staple of everyday life, but most people still don’t understand how websites work or how to design them. This minor teaches you to design, develop, and create your own websites. You will learn real industry theory and techniques to build web databases, create interactive user interfaces, design applications, and more.

Requirements for completion (four core courses plus two electives)
Minimum units: 18

Required Courses (13 units):

ITP 104 - Web Publishing (2 units)
ITP 301 - Interactive Web Development (4 units)
*Students must take ITP 104 prior to taking ITP 301.
ITP 300 - Database Web Development (3 units)
*Students must take ITP 301 prior to taking ITP 300.
ITP 460 - Web Application Project (4 units)
*Students must take one 300-level course before enrolling in ITP 460.

Electives (choose two courses for a minimum of 5 units)

ITP 302 - Advanced Web Publishing (2 units)
*Students must take ITP 104 prior to taking ITP 302.
ITP 310 - Design for User Experience (3 units)

Why Students Take It
To learn how to build interactive, effective web sites. By the end of their course of study, students know how to build web sites, hook up databases behind the sites, program dynamic web pages to interact with users, script original functionality, and integrate existing technologies and apps. They learn real industry theory and techniques to prepare them to enter the web industry or to work in the web sphere within another area.
