Minor Description
The FBI reported that billions of dollars are lost every year due to cybercrime, and cyber security has become one of the fastest-growing sectors in the technology industry. This minor focuses on the concern over privacy and security of digital information and will train you to secure and protect organization systems, defend against hackers, and trap a cyber-criminal. Skills learned in this minor are indispensable to a potential employer and applicable to any field or discipline.

Requirements for completion (five core courses)
Minimum units: 18


Required prerequisite course (2 units):
ITP 125 - From Hackers to CEOs; An Introduction to Information Security

All of the following courses (12 units)*:
ITP 325 - Ethical Hacking and Systems Defense (3 units)
ITP 357 - Enterprise Network Design (3 units)
ITP 370 - Information Security Management (3 units)
ITP 375 - Digital Forensics (3 units)

*Students must take ITP 125 prior to taking ITP 325, ITP 357, ITP 375, or ITP 370.

Electives - choose one course (4 units)
ITP 425 - Web Application Security
*Students must take ITP 325 prior to taking ITP 425.
ITP 457 - Network Security
*Students must take ITP 357 prior to taking ITP 457.
ITP 475 - Advanced Digital Forensics
*Students must take ITP 375 prior to taking ITP 475.
